Thank you for adopting a shrine. Your care for this sjrine will help to encourage devotion and prayer to Our Lord through this saint's intercession.  If you have any questions or concerns about the statue or area for which you are caring, please see Fr. Mario.    Here are ome guidelines to help in caring for the shrine which you hve adopted.


Thank you for “adopting a shrine.” We are sure that you will take good care of this area and the image of your saint. Here is a little prayer to begin your journey:

Dear (Saint),

May my care of this shrine demonstrate my devotion to you. I offer this service for the praise and glory of God and for an increase in devotion to you. I offer this caretaking for my family, loved ones, and all who need my/our prayers and I ask you (saint) to intercede for all who invoke your name, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  Amen

Guidelines:
 

1. Please make sure that you do not plant invasive species (Lilies of the Valley, Bamboo, Mint, and other plants, can spread too far and too quickly.

2. Depending on location, watering may be difficult.  You may wish to choose hardier plants in those locations.

3. Please avoid any artificial plants, trinkets, religious articles, photographs, etc. Although you are caring for this shrine, it is for all people.  We will be asking that you gently remove these objects if they are left by devotees. Typically, allow them to stay for a week before removing them, unless there is a lot of clutter. People may also be adding their own flowers to the shrine area for which you are caring. Try to gently integrate them where possible. We are encouraging as much prayer and expressions of prayer as possible.

4. No candles please. Some places sell votive glasses that can be set into the ground. Please avoid these as we are close to the brush.

5. Please take photos as you are caring for these. They will make a great addition to our website.

6. Please invite others to see your shrine and perhaps say a prayer together
